J.T. passed away Wednesday October 12, 2022 at home in Memphis, TN. Born August 12, 1940 to parents, Tommie and Audrey Smith in Pikeville, TN.

At the age of 19, J.T. joined the army. Then he was honorably transferred to the Tennessee National Guard, where he served the remainder of his service career.

In 1999, J.T. met his now wife of 22 years, Margaret Ann Smith. With a full family of eight children, four stepchildren, and seventeen grandchildren, Margaret and J.T. still found time to fish and occasionally take a trip to the casino.

J.T. was preceded in death by his parents, Tommie and Audrey; his brother, Mark; his sister, Hazel; sons, John T. and James E.; and stepdaughter, Tammy J.

J.T. is survived by wife, Margaret Ann; his brothers, James, Sammy, and Mike; his sister, Ruth; children, Anita Dollar (Wayne), Jeffrey T. Smith, Benjamin Smith, Angela K. Gilmore (Danny), and Shawn M. Smith (Chea); and stepchildren, James R. Parker, Christopher Fisk, and Jonathan Fisk.
