Ingrid was born in Wheeling, Illinois to Jack and Minnie Nielsen, then joined by sister Joan. She married Fred O. Grabo on Dec. 17, 1949, at the Northbrook Presbyterian Church. Ingrid and Fred eventually settled in Glenview, Illinois, and raised daughter Lisa, and son Rick. Ingrid enjoyed being a full time mother, Girl scout leader, and having the house that all the kids in the neighbor gathered. She was affectionately given the nickname of "Camp Director". She and Fred built a cottage in Wisconsin, and their retirement home in Tennessee.
Ingrid was preceded in death by her father, John P. Nielsen (Jack), and mother, Minnie W. Nielsen.
She is survived by her husband, Fred, daughter Lisa Hildebrand, husband, Edward, son Frederick Grabo(Rick), wife, Doris. And sister Joan Heuer.
Grandchildren, Greta Jackman, Megan Azimi, Zachary, Jacob, and Anna Grabo.
Great Grandchildren, Brittany Hildebrand, Steve Oknewski, and Elijah Grabo.
