Harlan Mullen White, 75 went to be with the Lord Wednesday, August 9, 2017 surrounded by the love of family at home in St. Louis, Missouri.
He was born June 30, 1942 to Robert and Theta (Mullen) White at Oxford, Nebraska. He grew up in Oxford, graduated from Oxford High School, McCook Junior College, and attended Kearney State College.
Harlan met his former wife, Sally Halda in Creston, Iowa and married in 1967. They had two children, Julie Greenquist and Christopher White. Harlan worked for Gambles, Swift, Lenox Furnace, Square D, and the City of Lincoln Water Department where he retired as a water plant operator in 2005. In 2014, he moved to St. Louis to be close to his son and resided at St. Agnes Apartments where he enjoyed a caring community of friends and neighbors.
Harlan is survived by his son Christopher White and wife Amy (Miller) White of St. Louis, Missouri; daughter Julie Greenquist of Lincoln, Nebraska; sister Tara Butler of Phoenix, Arizona; former wife Sally Halda of Webb City, Missouri; sister-in-law Barb White of Sherman, Texas; and grandchildren Peyton and Elliot White of Cordova, Tennessee and Aaron Greenquist of Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters Amy German, Mary "Susie" Dowding, and Teresa Myers; and one brother John White.
Northridge Woodhaven Funeral Home and Cemetery is serving the family. Visitation will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at Northridge Woodhaven Funeral Home with the funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m.
