Gurney B. Craft, Jr., 90, died Sunday, September 19, 2010 at Eden Village Care Center in Glen Carbon, IL. He was born June 28, 1920 in Winston Salem, North Carolina and was a long-time resident of Memphis, TN where he was a member of Orchi Baptist Church. He proudly served his country as a Master Sergeant in the U.S. Army during World War II. Gurney, also known as Junior, was employed by House Bond Inn Keeper Supply of Holiday Inn, Ramada Inn, and Barnett Group, installing restaurant equipment. Gurney was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Margaret Craft. Survivors include one daughter, Kay (Jeff) Davis of Granite City, IL: one son, Buddy (Becky) Craft of Collierville, TN; grandchildren, Kim Davis, Nathan (Britney) Craft, Jacob Craft, and Rachel Craft; two great-grandchildren Brianna Craft and Nolin Craft; and four brothers, Edwin (Lavetta), Raymond (Dorcas), John (Ruth), and James (Ann) Craft. Funeral Services will be held Friday, September 24, with visitation to start at 12:30 p.m. and funeral to follow at 2 p.m., at Northridge Woodhaven Funeral Home, 6755 Hwy 51 N., Millington, TN 38053.
