Geraldine Horton Potts, 86, of Memphis died Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at the Methodist Hospice Residence in Memphis. Mrs. Potts was a 1943 graduate of Manassas High School. She attended Lane College in Jackson, TN where she studied child development and was a member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority. She was the Head Cashier for Johnson Publishing Company of Chicago who published magazines like Ebony, and Jet. After moving to Memphis, Mrs. Potts became a member of Women Involved in Community Services (WICS of Memphis). Geraldine Horton was married to the Reverend Robert L. Potts over 30 years. They gave life to three sons, Robert, Randolph, and Ronald. Surviving are her sons, Robert O. Potts (Joellen) of Baltimore, MD; and Randolph Potts (Ginni) of Memphis; and one granddaughter, Leah Potts of VA. Mrs. Potts was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Robert L. Potts; son, Ronald Potts; and brother, Carl Cole. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May18, 2013 at Mount Olive CME Church at 538 Martin Luther King Blvd. Memphis, TN 38126. Interment will be at Northridge Woodhaven Cemetery.
