Georgia "Georgie" Ethel Herndon, 82 of Millington, Tennessee formerly of Arkansas.  She went to be with the Lord on July 02, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was born May 26, 1942, in Gilmore, Arkansas to the late Peter and Ethel Holt.

Georgia retired from U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. She was a member of Embury United Methodist Church in Millington, Tennessee. Georgia Herndon was and is a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

She is preceded in death by her parents; Peter and Ethel Holt, 3 sisters, and 5 brothers.

Georgia is survived by her husband of 42 years; James H Herndon, 3 daughters; Ronda Merritt, Sonya Gowan, and Donna Merritt, 4 grandchildren, Heather Lovelace, Colby Yopp, Mallory Dowden, and Dakota Wilkerson, 5 great grandchildren; Jacob Lovelace, Charlotte Lovelace, Anslee Dowden, Noah Dowden, and Aurora Yopp.

Her family requests that memorials to be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital or West Cancer Clinic.
