Frances M. Swanson went to be with the Lord on April 6, 2015. She was a resident at St. Andrews Village in Aurora, CO. Frances was born July 2, 1923 in Woden, IA She grew up on her family''s farm, the oldest of 8 brothers and sisters. During WWII, she worked at Wright Patterson Air Force Base building airplanes for the military. After the war, she moved to Buena Vista, CO where she met and married Lawrence Swanson. She became a Navy wife and had her only child, a daughter Kathy. After her husband passed away, she worked at the Child Care Center on the Navy base in Millington, TN for 20 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence and brother, Kenneth Tegtmeyer. Francis is survived by her daughter, Katherine (Greg) Spiering; sisters, Arlene (Arnold) Gerdis, Doreen Felder and Sonja (Roger) Brady; and brothers, Donald (Ann), Harvey, and Ervin (Connie) Tegtmeyer. France has 2 grandchildren, Seth (Katie) Spiering and Summer Spiering; 3 great grandchildren, Deshawn, Mikayla and Sawyer; and numerous nieces and nephews. Services will be held at Northridge Woodhaven Funeral Home on Monday, April 13 at 11:30 am with burial at Memphis National Cemetery off Jackson Avenue. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children''s Research Hospital or National Alzheimer''s Association.
