EVELYN M. PIKE Born October 26, 1927, and passed away on Friday, September 11, 2009, peacefully at her home with family, after a brief illness. The family grieves their loss but rejoices that she has passed on to the loving arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, for eternity. She is preceded in death by her parents, John R. Bridges and Lydia Ester Bridges and infant son Glen Ray Pike as well as six of her seven siblings. She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, John Wesley Pike, Sr., and sons, James L. Pike (Mary) and John W. Pike, Jr. (Connie). She was "Memaw" to her adoring grandchildren: Chad Pike, Casey Pike, Josh Pike (Shelley), Amy Yarbrough, April Pomeroy (Steve), Marty Fahr (Kristi) and Michael Fahr and great-grandchildren: Katelyn Nichols, Hannah Yarbrough, Brodie Fahr, Alexy Fahr, Abby Pike, Zane Pike, Cassidy Trim, Skylar Pomeroy, Somerset Pomeroy and Jackson Pomeroy. She is also survived by a brother Charles Bridges of Kansas City, Kansas. She was a graduate of Southside High and a member of First Baptist Church of Millington. She was uniquely humble, meek and patient, attributes her Lord blessed her with. Besides her family, she had a passion and talent for oil painting and making crafts of all kinds for enjoyment and selling at local shows. She loved her flower garden and the many opportunities she had to be around lakes and the ocean where she enjoyed fishing and other activities. A wonderful cook, her "stews'' were renowned and enjoyed by family and friends. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m., Sunday, September 13 at Northridge Woodhaven Funeral Home in Millington, TN. Services will be held at 1 p.m., Monday at the funeral home with burial to follow at Northridge Woodhaven Cemetery.
