Eugene Edward Shivers, 83, of Olive Branch, MS. died Wednesday June 20, 2012. Eugene was a veteran of both the U.S. Air Force & The U.S. Navy. A Graduate of Christian Brothers, he retired as a packing engineer for International Harvester after 37 years. In addition he received a law degree from Southern Law. Mr. Shivers was a member of numerous civic organizations as well as the Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Olive Branch, MS. He was an avid U of M fan and enjoyed bowling, fishing, golfing, playing bridge and was ham radio operator. He is survived by his: Sons: Dutch (Wanda) & Jimmy Shivers, Daughter: Janet (Earl) Ayers, Brother: Harry Shivers, Sister: Dorothy Lefler, 11 grandchildren & 12 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years: Mary Shivers, Daughter: Julia Shivers and grandchildren: Catherine, Jamie & Christopher Shivers. Visitation will be from 10:00 - 11:00am Saturday June 23, 2012 at Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Olive Branch, MS. A Burial Mass to follow at 11:00am. Interment with full military honors will be at Northridge Woodhaven Cemetery in Millington, TN. Northridge Woodhaven Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
