Ernie T. Gardner, Sr. Born and raised in New Orleans, LA August 7,1938. Died in Memphis, TN on October 8,2020. He was 82 years old and a resident for many years of Houma, LA. Ernie is survived 2 sisters, Helen and Bernice and husband, Herbert Cheffield; 7 kids, Lofton, Ethel, Patty, Lola, Ernie Jr, Junita, and Henry. He was greatly loved by 18 grandkids; 23 great grandkids and 3 great-great grandkids; also survived by numerous cousins, neices and nephews, sons and daughters in law.

Ernie was preceded in death by both parents, Ethel and George Gardner, 1 brother, Huey, 1 son, Bruce, 1 grandson, Jerry, 2 sons in law, Joseph Hamrick Sr. and Pete Tatum Sr., 1 brother in law, Edward Meyer, 1 sister in law, Mary Gardner; 2 wives, Virginia and Maryann.

Ernie was a veteran of 6 years service to the United States Marine Corp. He was a Christian who loved the Lord and made sure people knew his testimony; Keep God in your life Jesus in your heart and a acronym for BIBLE Basic Instruction Before Leaving Earth.

The family also wants to thank Avalon Hospice, Where the Heart is Home Health and Turning Point Home Health for taking care of dad the past few years till his final rest.

In lieu of flowers family is requesting that donations be made to Parkinsons and Alzheimers Research.
