Ellis Matthew Barrett, 42, died Sunday, January 19, 2014. Ellis was and adventurous spirit who enjoyed frisby golf, being outdoors, travelling, nature and wildlife. His dog, was Romeo whom he dearly loved. He was a sheet metal worker and member of Sheet Metal Workers Local 4 in Memphis. He was a craftsman who loved creating and making things with his hands. Ellis is survived by his parents Ellis Ray and Denise Barrett of Covington; a daughter, Sierra Barrett of Millington; a granddaughter, Isabella Marie Kirksey; brother, William Wallace and wife, Dawnyel Barrett of Covington, grandmother, Elaine Marie Perry, Covington, TN; uncles, William Anthony Perry of Memphis; James Kenneth Barrett of Southaven, MS; Ernest Ray Barrett of Memphis; aunts, Jacqueline Lee Diggs of WA; Glenda Eason; Linda Hubbard; Mary Marise all of Memphis. Ellis was preceded in death by his grandfather, William Roger Perry. The family will receive friends at Northridge Woodhaven Funeral Home on Sunday, January 26, 2014, from 5:00 - 8:00. Interment will be at Northridge Woodhaven Cemetery.
