Eileen was the adopted child of Kenneth Phillip Monroe and Veretta, Monroe. She was born January 06, 1954, in California.
Eileen was Baptized at St. Clement in Howard, California. Her father was in the military, and they were transferred to Memphis Tennessee. They were faithful parishioners of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church and Eileen attended Our Lady of Sorrows school.
She received her degree in teaching From Memphis State University. She taught in public schools and later taught as a substitute teacher in the diocesan schools.
Eileen was always active. She loved bowling and was involved in the activities of the church. She attended daily Mass, when possible, in addition to weekend Mass. She was often the lector or Eucharistic Minister at Mass. Through the years she was involved in many different groups: Bible study, Hospitality, Legion of Mary, Pastoral Council, Book Club and Walk and Talk and St. Vincent de Paul Society.
Services will be on the morning of Wednesday, August 21, at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 3700 Thomas Memphis, TN 38127. Visitation will be 10:00 to 10:30. Rosary at 10:30, Funeral Mass at 11:00. There will be a reception following the funeral.
Northridge Woodhaven Funeral Home and Cemetery, 6755 HWY 51 N. Millington, TN 38053, is in charge of services.
