Effie May Rhoades Buckley, was born August 13, 1943 and departed this life to be with her Lord on January 6, 2019 at the age of 75.

Effie was born to Clinton Newell and Vera Debora  Williams Rhoades. When Effie was born, she already had an 11 year old brother, Gerald Lex Tatum.

In 1949 she was blessed with twin brothers, Calvert Cecil and Harold Eugene Rhoades (better know to all as Cal and Hal).

In 1962 she gave birth to her only son, Jerry Wayne Tines, Jr.

Effie graduated from Humes High School in Memphis and then graduated from Memphis State University with a nursing degree.

On April 29, 1979 she and the love of her life, Daniel Edward Buckley, from Boston, MA were married in Las Vegas, Nevada.

After many years of nursing for Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, she finally retired and they moved to Plant City, FL for their retirement years.

Effie was preceded in death by her father and mother Clinton Newell and  Vera Debora Willliams  Rhoades, and her brother Gerald Lex Tatum.

She is survived by her husband Dan Buckley of Plant City, FL, her son Jerry Wayne Tines, Jr. of Memphis, her brothers Calvert Cecil Rhoades of Arlington TN and Harold Eugene Rhoades (Peggy ) of Collierville, TN.  She was blessed with many nieces and nephews and cousins, her brother in law John Buckley (Dorothy May) of Plant City, FL.

Visitation with her family will be on Sunday, January 13, 2019 from 1:00-2:00 with her service following at 2 pm at Forest Hill Funeral Home, East on Whitten Rd. 901-382-1000
