Obituary

Dorothy Carolyn Patrick Danley, age 89, passed into eternal rest on 3 February 2021 in Bells, TN.  Carolyn was a remarkable individual.   Born and raised in Crockett County, TN in July 1931, she met and married the love of her life, Jimmy Danley in 1954.  They shared an electric love for 56 years of marriage during which time they were apart only when Jimmy's Navy service or their work required it.  Together they made a wonderful home for their three daughters.  Carolyn was a devoted and loving Mom to her daughters and their families.  Blessed with a quick wit and hard-earned country wisdom and strength, she embodied the attributes of a wife and Mom found in Proverbs 31.  She sacrificed for her family and delighted in their success, finding joy in her five grandchildren and her great-grandchild. Carolyn made even the tough times fun. She was proud of her West TN roots. After living across the United States during their Navy career, she and Jimmy returned to TN to raise their family in Millington before moving to Brownsville after retirement.  In Millington and Brownsville, they made things grow – a strong family and amazing gardens. Carolyn was also proud of her work as an information operator for the Millington Telephone Company. Her work ethic, incredible memory, and vibrant personality made her a valued colleague to all.  Carolyn resided at Bells Rehabilitation and Nursing Home after Jimmy's passing in 2011.  She missed Jimmy deeply each day, such was their abiding love.

Carolyn was predeceased by her parents, Clarence Patrick and Faye Patrick McMackin; brothers Richard Agee, Perry (Buddy) Patrick, and Donald Patrick; and sister Mary Stephenson.  She is survived by sister Nancy Wentworth, with whom she had many youthful adventures; daughters Sandra (Doug) Masterman of Norfolk, VA, Patty (Tim) Bradshaw of Arlington, TN, Linda (Bob) Hagan of Stafford, VA, five grandchildren and one great grandchild.

The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the staff at Bells Rehabilitation and Nursing Home for their compassionate care and concern for Carolyn, especially in this past year.  The family requests any memorial be made to the Alzheimer's Association or to Allen Baptist Church Brownsville, TN. Please contact Northridge Woodhaven Funeral Home, Millington TN for more information.
