Dorothy " Dot " L. Caillouette Martin of Millington , TN, passed from this life on January 11,,2014, in her home at the age of 93 . Born in Nashville, TN, on September 9, 1920, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 52 years,Jewell H. Martin;her parents, Benjamin Caillouette and Lourene Swint Caillouette Sona; stepfather Joseph W. Sona; sisters Mary Della Caillouette Bear and Georgia Mai "Molly"Caillouette May ; and brother H.H. "Kelly" Caillouette . She is survived by her two daughters and son in law, Linda and Charles Carter of Millington, and Pam and Jim Crawford of Bartlett TN; grandson Jay Wilson and his wife, Shannon; granddaughter Kate Crawford Simone; great - grandchildren Arica Wilson, Chris Wilson ,Hannah Wilson and Kelsey Wilson ;Step granddaughter Tammy Lee and husband Doug : step - great - grandchildren Taylor Lee , Dallas Lee and Amanda Acosta ; step - great - great- granddaughter Addison Acosta ; Half brother Ben Caillouette : and many nieces and nephews who knew her as " Aunt Ditty" . A graduate of East High School in Nashville , she lived her life devoted to her family, to her friends , and to the Lord and his work in her church and community. As a part of the' Greatest Generation , " she was a true homemaker, and making a home where her husband's Navy career took the family, and welcoming into their home new friends they made along the way. Upon her husbands retirement from the Navy in 1959, the family returned to Millington and again joined First Baptist Millington , where Dot served faithfully as VBS, GA's, Women's Missionary Union, children's nursery department , Senior Adult Hallelujah Choir, church library and many other ministries of the church until the age of 90. She loved God and God loves her, and she will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Visitation will be 11am -1 pm on Tuesday , January 14, 2014 at First Baptist Church of Millington, TN. with funeral following at 1 pm. Burial will be at Northridge Woodhaven Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be sent to missions fund of First Baptist Millington, TN. , 5010 West Union Road, Millington , TN. 38053, or to the charity of donor's choice.
