Dessie L. Chumney "Dessie Lou", 80, passed peacefully Friday, April 11, 2014 in Chattanooga, TN. Her hobbies included singing, music, and Southern Gospel music. She loved reading her Bible. She read it cover to cover several times in her lifetime. She was a prayer warrior, taking delight in praying and interceding for others. Those who will miss her dearly include her daughter, Marsha Chumney Enlow (Chris) of Bartlett; her son, Mark A. Chumney Sr. (Twyla) of Chattanooga; grandchildren, Mark A. Chumney Jr. (Rachel), Karissa D. Chumney Cannon (Justin); Elizabeth Hope Enlow; Shannon Audrey Enlow; and Amy Catherine Enlow; great-grandchildren, Cadence Aloha Chumney; Jackson Aiden Chumney; and Aurora Neva Chumney. Mrs. Chumney was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Joe Vaughn Chumney; and a brother, Clint Eugene "Gene" Lewis. The family will receive friends at Northridge Woodhaven Funeral Home on Monday, April 14, 2014 from 2:00 -3:00 p.m. Funeral Services will begin Monday at 3:00 p.m. Interment will be at Northridge Woodhaven Cemetery.
