Deborah Eileen Walker (Cates), (Debbie) age 70, passed away peacefully at St. Francis Hospital in Memphis, Shelby County, Tn on January 15, 2026. Debbie had accepted the Lord Jesus and had a pastoral care visit from Pastor Webb.

Debbie was born in Memphis, Tn, in May 1955. She graduated from Millington Central High School in Millington, Tn. She had several professions she was very successful at.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elbert and Mary Cates and by her brother, Richard Cates. She is survived by her son, Charles Walker and his spouse, Lisa. She is also survived by her four sisters and their spouses, Linda Riley (William), Marsha Jolly (Ray), Carol Hollaway and Dee Anna Hussey (David), several aunts and uncles and numerous cousins.

The one thing our Debbie liked to do more than anything was to talk and talk she would. Sometimes we would be taking a breath for her and laughing over it. Debbie loved plants and flowers and she loved animals. She liked gardening and always canned vegetables so she could have the freshest food. She also loved to make jam and jellies like her Mama did. She liked to sew and piece quilts and had ongoing projects. She liked to read and kept up with the news and what was happening around the world. She was full of energy and always on the way to complete some project. She loved her family and liked to be in the midst of everything that was going on. Debbie was full of life and shared it with everyone.

Debbie is missed and will be missed and remembered by her family and everyone who knew her.
