Danny Cox, a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away on May 21, 2025. He was born in Memphis, TN on March 30, 1943.

He was preceded in death by his daughter Corrina Cox, parents Herbert and Maxine Cox, brothers Ernest, Charles and Ferman Cox and sisters Linda Preston, Pat Hawkins and Phoebe Rowe.

An Air Force veteran, it was during his service while stationed in Zweibrücken, Germany, that he met the love of his life, Christa. After his military service, Danny's primary career was as an electrician. He became a Master Electrician and was a loyal member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW-474) for 56 years. Danny's entrepreneurial spirit also led him to own his own electrical contractor business. He also partnered with family to operate a bar named "My Brother's Place." Displaying further versatility, he also became a licensed real estate agent and skillfully rehabbed houses. Throughout all his endeavors, his strong work ethic and commitment earned him the respect of many colleagues and friends.

Danny was always family first, doing everything possible to help and guide his children. This commitment was clearly demonstrated in the community by proudly coaching his daughters' softball teams and influencing many young lives. He also notably supported his son's early passion for computer programming, encouraging an interest that would lead him to become an engineer. His deep care and support extended to his wider family circle as well, notably when he assisted his sister-in-law, Hildegard and her family with their significant relocation to the US. Known for his hard work, intelligence and leading by example, Danny set high expectations but was always encouraging regardless of the situation. He readily offered assistance to anyone genuinely trying to improve themselves, serving as an inspiring example not only for his family but for many others he helped along the way.

Danny's memory will be cherished and kept alive by his loving wife of 61 years, Christa Cox, daughter Carole McClain, son Danny Cox (Lisa), adoring grandchildren Jordan McClain (Aly), Morgan Davis (Zachary), Jake Cox (Rachel), Matthew Cox and Bradley Cox, great-grandchildren Tuck and Oliver McClain and many other nieces and nephews.

He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life on Saturday, June 14th, 2025, from 2:00 to 5:00 PM. The celebration will be held at the home of his son and daughter-in-law, Dan and Lisa. Guests are welcome to come and go during these hours to share memories and celebrate Danny's life.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Paw and Claws Rescue in Danny's memory.
