Obituary

Constance C. "Connie"  Pike, 71, of Memphis, TN, passed seamlessly into the loving and waiting arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on October 11, 2018 for her eternity in His paradise and presence.  Connie leaves John, her loving and devoted husband of 29 years, who was at her bedside at the time of her Homegoing.  She also leaves her sister, Bonnie Fortner (Bobby) of Memphis and her brother, David Leach of West Memphis, AR, also numerous extended family members.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Claryon W. and Archie M. Leach. Connie graduated from Central High School and attended Memphis State University. Her career in and passion for business saw her enjoying and excelling for many years in the women's apparel industry.  She also loved owning, buying, and selling jewelry.  In recent years, she has primarily worked at this through a friend's retail jewelry business.  After she married John, she joined their flooring business until her personal passion for business found her opening her own upscale ladies apparel business and full service salon and day spa, Beau Monde.  In the last couple of decades her health would not allow her to keep up with these business endeavours that kept her busy, happy and emotionally fullfilled.  Also her health issues kept her from traveling.  She secertly told John that as soon as her health permitted, they were going to New York City to buy some clothes and see some plays!  She also regretted not being able in recent years to spend time with her many friends, but they understood. Connie was voted by John as "Memphis Queen of Clean", for 29 straight years!  She also obviously believed that cleanliness was next to godliness!  A special thanks to Ms. Letty Morales, her friend and helper, who in the last several years made Connie's life easier and more joyful. Connie was a beautiful woman.  She had an internal beauty that captivated John at their first meeting.  It was "Love At First Sight".  Our loss is the Lord's gain, and John has comfort and peace in the full knowledge that Connie's tired and hurting human body has now been healed in her Eternal Home. In lieu of flowers the family requests that family and friends consider making a gift to Bellevue Baptist Church or a charity of your choice in Connie's memory. Visitation will be from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 16, at Northridge Woodhaven Funeral Home, with funeral service immediately following.  Burial will be in Northridge Woodhaven Cemetery. Northridge Woodhaven Funeral Home, 6755 Hwy. 51, Millington, TN 38053,  901-872-3375
