Christine E. Shelby, 81, born in Covington Tennessee to Thurman and Ruby Ervin, passed away at her home surrounded by family on July 9, 2025. She leaves behind one daughter Cathy Lynn Sears(John), five grandchildren, Jeremy Sears, Bradley Shelby (Tara), Joshua Shelby(Kris), Zakary Shelby (Jada), Matthew Sears (Jamie), three great-grandchildren, Bentley, Willow, and Alice, two brothers Billy Ervin (Mary) and Pat Ervin ( Carla), numerous nieces and nephews, many precious friends, and many precious children that she loved and taught  from her 33 years working as a preschool teacher at Small World which later became Lighthouse Christian Academy where she was known as Ms. Chris. She was preceded in death by her husband Edward L. Shelby Sr and her son Edward L Shelby Jr.
