Charles L. Woelm, 92 passed away in his home in Grand Junction, TN. July 11th. Charles was a pillar of strength and support for his family and his fellow man with vigor and devotion. He was born Sept. 8th, 1922 to Clarence and Esther Woelm in Milwaukee, WI. He attended Georgian Hills Baptist Church for many years where he served as a devoted deacon. He volunteered to serve in the United States Army Air Force during his tour of duty he met his sweetheart Hazel Harlan, they married in 1944 and celebrated 62 years together. Mr. Woelm retired from Memphis Light, Gas and Water Division where he worked in the cost estimating department and also served as a Union Steward. Anyone who knew him would tell you he was "the man who was never without a smile." Mr. Woelm had many interests including gardening, woodworking and one of his most enjoyable past times was being a "Ham Radio" Operator where he spoke to people all over the world. He is survived by his three children, James (Jimmy) C. Woelm of Atoka, TN. Sharon Taylor (JM) of Grand Junction, TN. Glen H. Woelm (Carol) of Brighton, TN. five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and sister, Virginia Smith of Bradenton, FL. Visitation will be 1 pm to 2 pm Wednesday July 15, 2015 at Northridge Woodhaven Funeral Home, Millington with funeral service at 2 pm.
