Charles Bryan Matthews, 26, was a loving, kind, generous, adventurous young man whose life was cut short when he was injured in a motorcycle accident on August 29, 2010. Bryan touched the lives and hearts of the many whose paths he crossed with his witty, in your face personality that we all loved. He never met a stranger and was eager to help others when often he didn''t have it to give. Even in death, as a registered organ donor, Bryan very unselfishly donated his organs so that others may have his gift of life. Bryan loved to ride his motorcycle and was an avid Disk Golfer. He graduated from Craigmont High School in 2002 and was a student at Southwest Tennessee Community College. He furthered his studies this summer by obtaining a scholarship and studied for 3 weeks in Greece which was a dream of his. He was an Eagle Scout, a Senior DeMolay, and a 32nd degree Master Mason. He leaves behind his mother and step-father, Kathy and Greg Davenport of Millington, TN, Father, Joe Matthews, Sr. of Harmontown, MS, brother, Joe Matthews Jr, sister, Kathryn Glover and her fianc, Joseph Gunter and soon to be born nephew, Walt Aiden and his maternal grandparents, Walter and Joann Glover all of Memphis and Brother and Sister-in-law, Thomas and Alicia Davenport of Gallenia, MO. He also leaves his many aunts, uncles, cousins, and loving family along with his extended family of friends. We were all so looking forward to seeing what great directions Bryan''s life would take as he made this life on earth''s journey. May he touch as many on his continuing spiritual paths as he has here. Memorial Service at 1 p.m. on Saturday, September 4 at Northridge Woodhaven Funeral Home, 6755 Hwy 51 in Millington. Our family invites you to share with us in the celebration of his life at 2 p.m. on Sunday, September 5, at the VFW, 4681 Cuba Millington Road, Millington, TN. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Mid-South Organ Transplant Fund or the Regional Medical Center Trauma Unit. Just as he embraced everyone, we embrace Bryan in our hearts. It was a true privilege to know him. Thank you for being a part of our lives, Bryan, we will miss you.
