Charles Givon Blanchard, 87, died Thursday, March 12, 2015 at Methodist North Hospital. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean War. He came home and worked for International Harvester 35 years and retired as an Inspector. He then became a Shelby County School Bus Driver retiring after 10 years. He was a former member of Broadmoor Baptist, Ellendale Baptist and Bartlett Hills Baptist Churches. He enjoyed working in his yard, flower gardening especially the roses. Charles and Patsy loved to take roses from their garden, arrange them and place them on the church altar each Sunday. His survivors include two sons, Gary Wayne (Pam) Blanchard of Munford; Charles Patrick (Sherry) Blanchard of Memphis; grandchildren, Shelly (Kurtis) Newberry of Auburn, CA; Michael Ryan (Marie) Blanchard of Nashville; Lori Renee (Mark) Savage of Knoxville; Brett Alan (Irene) Blanchard of Knoxville; great grandchildren, Ryan Patrick Blanchard;
Kolt Newberry; Kayden Newberry; Blair Pullen; Natalie Pullen; Connor Savage; Carter Savage; Gavin Blanchard; and Hudson Blanchard. He is preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Patsy Blanchard; and a granddaughter, Katie Blanchard. The family will receive friends at Northridge Woodhaven Funeral Home on Sunday, March 15, 2015, from 1:00 -2:00. Funeral Services will be at Northridge Woodhaven Funeral Home on Sunday, March 15, 2015 at 2:00. Interment will be at Northridge Woodhaven Cemetery.
