Carlos Brooks, 93, died Monday, June 23, 2014 at Covington Manor. Mr. Brooks loved drinking his coffee and reading the paper,and gardening. He was a wonderful storyteller, but what made him happy was work, doing whatever he set his hands to do each day. He retired from Firestone after 42 years of service. Mr. Brooks survivors include his daughter, Barbara (C.C.) Simmons of Munford; son, Fred Brooks of Munford; grandchildren, Terry Simmons; Bobbie Jo (Johnny) Robertson; Angie Brooks; Freddie Brooks; Melissa (Carlos) Perez all of Munford; Pam Rapp of Atoka; Nancy Neal of Knoxville; nine great grandchildren; and 10 great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Katherine Brooks; parents, Lafayatte Russell and Lula Gertrude Brooks; son, Carlos W. Brooks, Jr.; and granddaughter, Debbie Covert. The family will receive friends at Northridge Woodhaven Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 25, 2014, from 1-2. Funeral Services will be at Northridge Woodhaven Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at 2:00. Interment will be at Northridge Woodhaven Cemetery.
