Bruce Alexander Welch, Sr, 90, of Bartlett Tn., passed away from this earth and from the people who loved him on November 24, 2015. He was independent and resourceful to the end, giving up only after suffering complications from a fall. One of seven children, he was born June 30, 1925 in Burlison, Tn. to Ruth Boswell and Thomas Samuel Welch. He and two of his brothers owned a Memphis real estate company for more than 30 years.

He loved God and his family and was a true gentleman; kind, warmhearted and honest. He served many years as an elder in the Presbyterian Church and was a member of Christ Church in Bartlett. He was a life-long Republican and often served as a poll volunteer during elections.

He is survived by his five children from his 63-year marriage to Rebecca Kidd Welch, who passed away in 2006. His children, Nancy Yarbrough (Billy), Bruce Welch Jr. (Zan), Bonnie Welch, Sandra Brauss (Jim), and Lorie Yearwood (Bill) will miss him always as will his 16 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. He also leaves members of his wife''s family, cousins, a host of nieces and nephews, and church members.

Flowers are appreciated but in lieu of flowers donations are welcomed for a family charity that helps disadvantaged children in Colombia, S.A. (Colombia Kids, C/O Kathy Wood-Dobbins, 5716 Quest Ridge Rd., Franklin, Tn. 37064)

Services will be held at Northridge Woodhaven Funeral Chapel, Millington on Monday, November 30 at 2 p.m. Visitation is from 12-2 p.m.
