Billy Paul Lyle, age 74, passed away Thursday, February 20, 2025, at the Lt. Col. Luke Weathers, Jr. VA Medical Center. He was born July 24, 1950, to the late Bule Lyle and Marie King, in Covington, TN.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 31 years, Lois Lyle, and grandson Clayton Haley.

Billy served in the Army from 1970 to 1972, and was honorably discharged after being wounded in the Vietnam War, earning the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. He loved to go fishing on the bank of the Lyle Lake and shooting at the range. He enjoyed taking his grandchildren out to buy a large tea and drive around Tipton County, looking at cars in closed dealerships and circling the tool aisles in Walmart.

Billy is survived by one son, Christopher Lyle; three daughters, Angela Lyle, Teresa Lyle, and Paula Lyle; seven grandchildren, Shelby Lyle, Megan Lyle, Julia Bolton, Richard Haley IV, Gwendolyn Lyle, Caleb Haley, and Callie Haley; one great grandchild, Richard Haley V; and five siblings, Janeice Douglas, Bobby Lyle, Shirley Null, Jerry Lyle, and Vicky Hinton. He leaves behind many other family members and friends who will miss him.

Visitation will be held from 1-2 p.m. Saturday, March 1, 2025, at Northridge Woodhaven Funeral Home in Millington. Graveside service will follow immediately after.
