Barbara Lucille Teague Smith passed away peacefully of natural causes on the morning of September 22, 2025.  She was born in Proctor, Arkansas on June 28, 1936 to the late Hobart Albert Teague and Tressi Lee Witt.  She attended Humes High School and was proud to have known Elvis Presley as a fellow student. In 1984, she graduated from Memphis State University at the top of her class while also working full-time and raising four children. She was a dedicated career woman who worked for Woodson-Tenent Laboratories for more than 30 years before her retirement in 1998. Barbara was also an avid gardener, nature lover and amateur photographer.

Barbara is survived by her adoring husband Willard. They were married for 71 wonderful years and enjoyed traveling, family gatherings and large Christmas celebrations at their home, which was fully decorated in every room.  She is also survived by her children Myra (Mike) Cushman, Randal (Tammy) Smith, Laura (Dave) Stettler, and Lisa Harrelson, as well as 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held on Friday, September 26, 2025 at Northridge Woodhaven Cemetery and Funeral Home at 6755 US-51 in Millington, Tennessee. Visitation will be held from 1:00-2:00 pm, followed by a brief chapel service and burial. All family, friends, and colleagues are welcome to attend.
