Autry Lee Poindexter, 69, died January 2, 2024, at St. Francis hospital in Memphis, TN. Autry was born August 18, 1954, in Corinth, MS. His family relocated to Memphis, TN the following year. He spent several years working for AutoZone and Katz Logistics. Autry loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed trips to the beach, taking his daughter and grandsons to dinner, and talking about sports. He was a huge fan of racing and was always making sure everyone around him had reliable transportation. Autry loved finding bargains and would travel with "Sis" all over to find good deals. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Lee Poindexter. Autry leaves behind his mother, Audrey
Onita Poindexter; his daughter, Kelly Dorsey; his grandsons, Connor and Coleman Dorsey; his brothers and sister, Keith Poindexter, Larry Poindexter (Wanda), and Teresa Ward; 4 nieces, and several great nieces and nephews. Autry spent the last several years of his life battling cancer and other illnesses. Despite the obstacles he faced, he carried on most days with very little complaint. His generosity, smile, and joking spirit will be truly missed.
