Obituary

Addie Beth Johnson, 97 of Southaven, passed away May 4, 2023.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John T. Johnson; parents, Lacy and Bessie Holland; and brother, Dan Holland.

She is survived by her sons, John Paul Johnson (Candy) and Mark Holland Johnson (Pam); grandchildren, Chad Johnson (Jamie), Alaina Ward (Tyler), Jake Johnson, Rebekah Burchfield (Charles), and Jessica Johnson; and great grandchildren, Addie Beth Johnson, Jack Ladell Johnson, Morgan Mae Johnson, Norah Michelle Burchfield, Eleanor Katherine Ward, and Tyler "Ty" Douglas Ward, Jr.
Ms. Addie Beth was an educator for Memphis City Schools for 30 years, many of her students remember that she always started the school day with a "thought of the day" and prayer. She held other callings in life such as a career in social work prior to teaching and she was an ordained member of Memphis Ministries and preached well into her 90's. She and Mr. John loved to cook for the family and always had homemade canned goods on hand. She lived a simple life with a full heart from serving the Lord and others with love.
